The noble enterprise of rescuing cars.

Seppo of Seaside Garage and his rescued Citroën CX.

Watching home mechanics bring cars back to life is equal parts therapeutic and endlessly entertaining. There’s so much to love: the satisfaction of solving a problem, the thrill of a project taking shape, and the emotional pull of seeing a neglected car get a second chance. It’s like watching a stray dog finally find a home. I’ve definitely teared up at least once watching a rusty old machine roll into a garage (or driveway) and get the care it deserves.

One of my favorite channels in this space is Seaside Garage, based in Denmark and run by a guy named Seppo. His garage is full of interesting, often underappreciated cars from the ’80s and ’90s—vehicles that most people overlook but that Seppo clearly loves.

But it’s his quiet, vanity-free, humble approach that makes it special.

His taste skews left-of-center in the best way. Citroëns get a lot of attention, along with a Renault 4, Lancia A100 Abarth, Austin Metro, Rover 114 GTI, Saab 900 Turbo Commander, Lada Niva, and a rotating cast of vintage mopeds.

But it’s not just about the cars. What really makes Seaside Garage special is Seppo himself—his quiet, vanity-free approach and deep, unpretentious curiosity. Parts can be hard to find. The tools aren’t always ideal. The weather is often cold. Still, he carries on, aiming not for pristine restorations but for roadworthy, lovable machines that are meant to be driven. It’s a noble pursuit.

It’s hard to pick a single video that captures the channel’s magic, but here are a two favorites to start with:
